Neighbors of Totana:
From the Civil Platform “NOW TOTANAâ€, we are very pleased with the recognition that from the City of Totana will be held this Sunday, January 26, 2020, to D. FRANCISCO TUDELA TOMÃS.
A living legend of the Alfarera Craft of our municipality and the Region of Murcia, belonging to a large extirpe of Potters of Totana with seven generations of antiquity.
We fully join this recognition and from these letters we give our most sincere congratulations, wishing you to appreciate and enjoy it.
Mr. FRANCISCO TUDELA TOMÃS, Paco del Mud, as we all know him best, is an institution in Totanera pottery crafts, where he has developed his professional life, together with his brother Conrado, following the teachings of his ancestors.
Teachings that he has been able to transmit, getting right in the transmission of that knowledge to his son Francisco, who has achieved with his knowledge learned from his Father to be National Handicraft Prize with pieces created in his own pottery.
In addition to being a good father and a good person, or good people as we say in Totana.
Highlight his political career defending the interests of the people of Totana, brilliantly succeeding in several initiatives that were forged during his time as Crafts Councilor of the City of Totana, such as the construction and commissioning of the Technological Center of Crafts, and the restoration and rehabilitation of the Moruno oven adjacent to the Technological Center itself.
Another of the proposals that have remained for posterity is the Monument to the Potter, in recognition of a profession as long and totanera as the roots of this our beloved city.
It should also be noted that it was one of the drivers of the creation and enhancement of the typical Totana dessert, the tasty “Santiaguitosâ€, made with natural products of the land, masterfully combined to delight everyone who tastes them.
Congratulations Paco, it is a fair and deserved recognition.
