The City Council of Totana has agreed this afternoon to resume tomorrow Tuesday, January 21, the teaching activity in the different teachings in the municipality after knowing the weather forecasts for the next hours and consulted the municipal Civil Protection technicians.
The mayor, Juan José Cánovas, and the Councilor for Education and Emergencies, Agustín Gonzalo Martínez, have met with the Civil Protection technical staff to decide on this measure for tomorrow's day.
Although the forecasts are that wind gusts are recorded and rains accumulate during this early morning and throughout the morning day of Tuesday, adverse weather events do not pose any risk to the population or to the educational community of Totana.
However, Civil Protection in Totana will keep its emergency services activated for the next few days.
It is recalled that access to the Sierra Espuña regional park remains closed and it is advised not to climb the mountain range to avoid incidents during the day in which several vehicles have had to be rescued by Civil Protection volunteers.
Today Monday, following the recommendations of the Ministry of Education and Culture and before the alerts issued by the AEMET, it was decided to suspend classes in the municipality of Totana during the day today Monday, January 20 in order to avoid unnecessary risks and in so as not to put at risk the safety of teachers, non-teachers and students of the educational centers of the municipality.
