The mayor of Totana, Juan José Cánovas, has dictated a side referring to various aspects related to the sports practice of colombiculture in the municipality of Totana in relation to behaviors of pigeon owners during the 2018/2019 season.
The side has been drafted at the request of the Palomos de Raza Colombicultura Society "Santa Eulalia" and the "Santiago" Totana Colombiculture Society, on the application of Law 3/2011, of March 25, on Protection and Organization of the Sports Practice of Colombiculture and Colombofilia.
In it, the ban on the flight of pigeons not destined for sports is recalled during the celebration of official training, competitions and Colombian and Colombian competitions, within the calendar of sports competitions in the 2019/2020 season.
The violation of this flight ban is classified as a serious infraction in the aforementioned Law, and will be punishable in accordance with the corresponding regulations.
In addition, it warns of the obligation for those who pick up a sports pigeon or a carrier pigeon to deliver it to this City Hall, or to the corresponding Federation or Societies of Colombiculture or Colombofilia.
Likewise, it is gathered that the City Council, through the Department of Sports and the Local Police, will adopt actions and methods of control over pigeons and other wild birds without control, as well as agree on the flight ban for pigeons not intended for practice Sports during the celebration of training and competitions in Colombia of this sports entity.
