La Cantera
Gastrobar can be a little tricky to find but, make no doubt, it is absolutely
worth finding. This is a very chic resraurant with a slightly industrial décor
consisting of exposed air ducting and pulleys, hoists and ropes on view. Wood
panelling looks as though it has been created by reclaiming pallets and caged
pillars all add to the funky vibe in the eating areas.
A roomy bar
area allows for pre-dinner drinks or even for a casual drink and the atmosphere
is lively, particularly at the weekends. There is a newly developed outdoor
restaurant for those balmy summer evenings we all love so much and again
features high stools and beer kegs converted into tables for an outdoor
drinking area.
The food is
as good as the surroundings suggest with a good selection of modern cuisine all
presented beautifully. Ingredients are sourced locally where possible and the
salads are as fresh as you would expect. The steaks in particular are award
winning and well worth trying if you are a fan of red meat.
La Cantera
is another restaurant which hosts gourmet evenings regularly and these are
definitely worth trying, although you need to book to get a table because the
six course taster style menus are priced well (usually €15) and therefore very
popular.
