The Councilor for the Environment, Pedro José Sánchez, has presented the new citizen awareness campaign on waste recycling "Think with the lungs", whose prize consists of a one-night stay for two people in a spa in the Region of Murcia , in full board.
As in previous editions, the general objective of this initiative is to promote information actions in social media and environmental awareness aimed at involving the population in the recycling culture.
This is intended to raise awareness among the general public about the importance of the separation at source of light and paper-cardboard containers for later deposit in the corresponding container for treatment and recycling, with the ultimate goal of quantitatively and qualitatively improving the results obtained.
The performance of the actions of this campaign is part of the framework collaboration agreement between the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, through the current Ministry of Employment, Universities, Business and Environment and Ecoembalajes España, SA (Ecoembes).
The specific objectives are to show in a tangible way the benefits of recycling the waste that is deposited in the yellow container (cans, plastic containers and briks) both in the protection of air quality and in the care of the environment.
In addition, we want to achieve an increase in the recycling rate of waste, especially for light and paper-cardboard packaging;
and encourage the separation of waste at source, from the homes themselves.
Similarly, it advocates reducing the percentage of "improper" from blue and yellow containers;
transmitting to the citizens the importance that their paper has in the recycling of light containers and paper-cardboard with the consequent care of the environment.
The media campaign began on October 28 and will continue until December 12, the day in which the public award ceremony will be held, and will consist in the development of the 7th edition of the "Recycle and Win" contest.
