The Unmissable Social Association, with the invaluable collaboration of the Department of Youth, organizes next Saturday, November 23, the activity "Shine for your rights" to commemorate the International Day of Children's Rights, which is celebrated today;
and that will take place at the Socio-Cultural Center "La Cárcel".
The activity consists in the celebration of free expression actions related to this theme of the Children's Rights Day, such as "Express-Arte" and "Memorial Lipdubs", which will take place from 12:00 to 13:30 respectively.
The City of Totana will commemorate the "International Day for the Rights of the Child", with this program promoted by the aforementioned association, with recreational and educational activities, with which various games and workshops will be held, directed by monitors, with the objective main to publicize the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and that the participating children have fun with the inflatables celebrating their day.
The Councilor for Youth and Children, Immaculate Blázquez, thanked the Social Safety Association for their help and involvement with this initiative;
and explained that today is "also a day to raise awareness of inequalities, in which a global call is made for boys and girls to have a better future."
In 1954, the UN General Assembly recommended that one day be devoted to fostering fraternity among the world's children and promoting their well-being through social and cultural activities.
The United Nations celebrates International Children's Day in honor of the adoption of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959.
The Convention on the Rights of the Child states that every child should enjoy health, enjoy rest and play, have a family, a name, a nationality, receive education, develop the capacity for freedom of thought and expression, and be protected against child exploitation, among other things.
