The Musical Association of Totana has organized the First Young Soloists Contest, whose final will be held on November 29, starting at 9:00 p.m., in the auditorium of the La Milagrosa College, for the benefit of the Association of Family Members of Children with Cancer of the Region of Murcia (AFACMUR).
The Councilor for Culture, Verónica Carricondo, and the director of the Band of the Musical Group, José Ãngel Palazón, accompanied by Rita Munuera, of AFACMUR, and Fran Cánovas, also representative of the Musical Group, have recently presented this event that has the objective of encouraging musical education, with symphonic band pieces.
This is intended to reward those selected with the opportunity to offer a concert together with the Band itself on the aforementioned date.
The call, which offered four modalities, one for children under 16 and another for young musicians between 16 and 30 years, each differentiating members of the Musical Group and external, established the instrumental specialties of flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, horn, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba and percussion.
Each participant could compete only in one modality and with a single instrument, except in percussion, whose works to be interpreted in the recording were exhibited in the contest rules.
A court composed of four music professionals selected the 4 finalists;
two in each modality, that will interpret the work chosen together with the Municipal Band of Music in the concert of November 29, being the same day the qualification to the finalists and becoming known the winner of the contest.
The winner of the contest will also get 300 euros;
and the second, third and fourth classified will receive 200, 100 and 50 euros respectively, all with the sponsorship and full subsidy of "Sanganxa" in order to make use of them in any of its stores.
The finalists were Ana Belén Crespo Moreno (Euterpe de Ferrer Ferrán), Marianela Fernández Hernández and José Javier Montoya Albarracín (Baguira; sonatina for alto saxophone and piano) and María Victoria Fernández Caballero (concert for clarinet of Óscar Navarro).
