The Department of Culture organizes the V Christmas Showcase Contest that aims to promote the creativity of merchants when presenting their establishments and products during the next Christmas holidays, so that they are more attractive for neighbors and customers at the same time that contribute to create a special festive atmosphere, on such marked dates, in the streets of the municipality.
In addition, all commercial establishments located in the municipality of Totana may participate, regardless of the product offered to the consumer.
The decoration of the windows has to be directly related to the atmosphere of the Christmas Holidays, valuing the following aspects such as artistic creation (originality, ingenuity and artistic wealth), materials used, composition and effort and laboriousness in the execution of the works.
Registration will be made at the Socio-Cultural Center "La Cárcel" in person or by phone by calling 968 42 28 17 or 659 94 99 37, from November 18 to December 12, both inclusive.
The jury will visit the registered establishments on December 16 and 17, during business opening hours.
This will consist of the Councilor for Culture and two people of recognized experience in the field.
The prizes established are 1st prize (150 euros), 2nd prize (€ 100) and 3rd prize (€ 50);
and the jury's decision will be unique and unappealable.
The award ceremony will take place on December 18, at 7:00 p.m., at the winning establishment.
Due to the good reception that this initiative is having among the merchants of the municipality, it is proposed to convene this contest again, with the purpose of continuing to boost and boost Totana's trade and promote the creativity of the merchants.
