More than a dozen social awareness activities include the program to commemorate the International Day for the Fight against Gender Violence in the municipality of Totana, which is organized on 25-N promoted by the City Council with the collaboration of women's associations and other social and sports entities.
The Councilor for Women and Equality, Javier Baños, accompanied by the professor of Aikido, José Valero, have presented the cast of awareness raising events that will be held from November 23 to December 1 in this municipality.
The activities are organized by the Department of Equality, the Center for Specialized Care for Women Victims of Gender Violence (CAVI) and the Municipal Council for Equality in order to raise awareness of the citizenship and condemn the violence that is exercised on women in the actual society.
Councilman Javier Baños advocated involving the whole of Totanera society, and especially families and professionals in the transmission and promotion of equality, justice, democracy and peace values ​​from an early age.
In addition, the mayor said that the need to develop attitudes and behaviors incompatible with sexism and violence is essential, and thus build a more egalitarian and just society.
