The socialist municipal group presented a motion to the ordinary plenary session in October in which it proposed the formation of a work table to find the best formula to address the pedestrianization of some areas of the urban area of Totana.
The GMS presented that motion because it believes that it is necessary to address this issue to improve mobility and gain spaces for pedestrians in the city, thus improving accessibility to walk, buy and consume in the urban area and especially in the center.
The Socialists are very clear that these measures must be taken after listening to all parties, with good planning and especially explaining very well to the affected neighbors the future reasons and benefits that insurance can produce taking such measures.
And that was the intentionality of the formation of that work table proposed in the motion.
But once again, the mayor and his councilors have acted in an authoritarian manner, with total absence of dialogue and towing the proposals made by the PSOE in the plenary.
With a total lack of planning and information and three days after the socialist proposal was approved in an informative commission, and two days before the celebration of the plenary session, in an act of total political infantilism and to try to leave the motion that was founded should discuss, decided to cut and change the direction of movement of some streets around the Plaza de la Constitución.
From the GMS, they denounce that this is not the way to address future issues that affect Totana, much less the pedestrianization of the urban area.
That is why the PSOE decided to withdraw the motion that it had presented because it will not accept that a serious and responsible proposal becomes another paripé of the mayor, of those that it sells as dialogue and participation and that they are only a forum where to impose its doctrines .
It seems that the mayor is willing to do anything, even annoy the neighbors of Totana, in order not to accept proposals that come from the PSOE, because he had no need to act in a hurry and back to the people and the rest of political groups with full representation.
Even so, the Municipal Socialist Group will continue working to present the proposals that it believes are necessary for the municipality.
If that also makes the mayor and his councilors get to work to carry them out and gain credit, a double objective will be achieved: that they be done and that they work.
But the Socialists will be vigilant, as is their obligation to oppose, so that they are done well and in the most beneficial way for the common good of the municipality.
