The Local Government Board has recently approved the signing of the new agreement for the provision of the services of the Day Center for Persons with Mental Illness in a situation of dependency, for the annuities from November 1, 2019 to November 30, 2023.
The new agreement will be signed shortly by the Minister of Women, Equality, LGTBI, Families and Social Policy, Isabel Franco, and the mayor, Juan José Cánovas, for an amount of 1,123,320 euros and a total of 25 places to be agreed.
The purpose of this agreement is to establish the collaboration between the Murciano Institute of Social Action (IMAS) and the City Council of Totana so that this local entity provides the Day Center service to People with severe mental disorder in a situation of dependency, located in Carmen Conde Street, 6 of this town.
The Day Center offers users comprehensive care during the daytime period in order to promote a better quality of life, enhance their personal autonomy and adequate living conditions in their family and socio-community environment.
In addition, basic assistance services are provided in the activities of daily living, maintenance, transportation and therapeutic services.
The center will remain open 222 days a year;
and its schedule will be preferably in the morning and afternoon, from Monday to Friday, with a minimum of 37 hours a week full-time service.
The total number of hours may not be less than 1,643 hours of service provision.
Specialized intervention programs are also offered that are adapted to the needs of the users, such as improvement of personal autonomy, self-care of health, social skills, occupational programs, pre-employment training, support for employment, sports and leisure time, prevention and approach of disruptive behaviors and intervention with families.
