The 2019/20 school year in the municipality of Totana will begin in Infant and Primary Education on September 9;
and in Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) and Baccalaureate on 13 and in Vocational Training (FP) on the 17th of the same month, according to sources from the Department of Education.
The Ministry of Education approved a few days ago the calendar in the 45 municipalities of Murcia and was published in the BORM on May 31.
The Municipal School Council of Totana submitted several weeks ago its proposal for the 2019/2020 academic year, which was sent to the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia for final approval.
In it, the start and end dates of the course in the different educational levels in this municipality were proposed, as well as holidays and local festivities or non-school days for the patron's festivities in the different teachings.
Thus, the beginning of Infant and Primary Education will be Friday, September 9;
In the ESO, Baccalaureate and Adult Education the start will be on Friday, September 13 and in Professional Training will also start on Friday, September 17.
In this way, they must have 178 school days in Infant and Primary, 175 in Secondary and 167 in Vocational Training.
The completion date of the school year in these teachings will be: June 26, 2020 in Infant and Primary Education, and June 24 in the cases of Secondary and Baccalaureate;
and on June 19 in the case of the FP.
In addition, school holiday periods would be those from December 23 to January 7, 2020 (Christmas), and April 6 to 17, 2020 (Holy Week).
Likewise, they are established as festivities of the patron of the corresponding teachings: November 29, 2019 (Infant and Primary Education), January 27, 2020 (ESO, Baccalaureate, EOI and Adult Education) and February 3, 2020 (Vocational Training).
They are set as local holidays (non-working days for work purposes determined by the municipality) on December 10, 2019 and January 7, 2020. Similarly, other non-school days included in the proposal of the school calendar are the 9 of December, March 20 and June 8.
