The Board of Directors of Adif Alta Velocidad has recently awarded the construction of the platform for a new section of the Mediterranean Corridor on the Murcia-Almeria line.
Specifically, it is the Sangonera-Totana route, 24.7 kilometers long.
The contract has been awarded for 120,482,711 euros, including VAT, to the UTE formed by Obras y Servicios Copasa, Constructora San José and Construcciones Rubau.
This one has a term of execution of 32 months;
and this action includes all the construction and civil engineering works planned in the project of the new high-speed connection between Murcia and Almería, planned for mixed traffic.
The objective of the contract is to build a railway platform for double track, with geometric characteristics that allow to travel at speeds of between 250 and up to 300 kilometers per hour.
The section Sangonera-Totana runs through the municipalities of Murcia, Librilla, Alhama de Murcia and Totana;
in which, as the most significant structures of the route, the construction of 5 viaducts, 1 pedestrian walkway, 6 overpasses on roads and highways, 7 underpasses and / or wildlife and the execution of two stations in Librilla and Alhama de Murcia stand out .
This contract is added to those that Adif Alta Velocidad has recently awarded, amounting to more than 192 million euros, destined to the works of the El Carmen-Barriomar and Nonduermas section.
This contract is pending signature.
In addition, Adif has already tendered the works for the Totana-Lorca section for 81.7 million euros.
In addition to these actions, the integration solution will be defined in another project that is finally contemplated as it passes through Totana, which will attend to the optimal proposals for the integration of the railway into the environment.
These actions are part of the Adif Alta Velocidad commitment to guarantee the full integration and permeability of the new railway infrastructures in the territories through which they run, as well as to increase safety for citizens and rail traffic.
