The Department of Weekly Market and Plaza de Abastos has adapted the public toilets of the Weekly Market, located in the municipal park "Marcos Ortiz", while during this term has also undertaken improvement works in the Plaza de Abastos under subsidies of the Autonomous Community
Thanks to a grant from the Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment, the City Council undertook repair works of public toilets in the weekly market, located in the municipal park Marcos Ortiz;
where they renewed all the pavement that was in poor condition and did not comply with the regulations regarding soil slippage.
In addition, damaged sanitary parts were replaced, plumbing in poor condition and the installation of new taps and fittings, as well as the repair of the existing doors, providing them with a lock and repainting, which were subsidized by an amount of 4,036.60 euros. and financed with a municipal contribution of 10,954.97 euros.
For its part, in the Plaza de Abastos, located on Rambla de La Santa Avenue, the City Council also received two grants from the Autonomous Community, with the aim of undertaking improvements in said infrastructure.
The first of these amounted to 19,504.92 euros and had a municipal contribution of 3,441.92 euros, with which they undertook, among others, the renovation of the exterior tiles of the posts, repair and painting of the roof, placement of a door in the main façade and integral repair of the existing toilets, adapting them to the use of people with handicaps and new connection and channeling of the drainage network in the street of Pilar.
In the second phase, other improvement actions were undertaken, such as the remodeling of two of the posts that are currently unoccupied, proceeding to the elimination of counters, elimination and replacement of the terrazzo flooring and the tiling.
In addition, we proceeded to the remodeling of the electrical installation and plumbing and the replacement of the pavement of the common areas;
all this was carried out through the subsidy received of 16,722.66 euros and a municipal contribution of 4,180.67 euros, respectively.
In relation to the posts that are currently vacant in the Plaza de Abastos, the City Council encourages all those who are interested to submit an application through the Totana Town Hall entry register, indicating in it the type of business to be installed.
