The Councilor for Education in office, Eulalia Moreno, denounces the situation of lack of foresight and absolute improvisation to which the educational centers of the municipality of Totana are being subjected by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, with regard to the distribution of educational units of three years for the next academic year 2019/2020.
In these last two weeks, from the Ministry of Education has been notified to several schools in Totana the increase of a three-year school unit, which this entity does not know where to locate.
According to the mayor of Education in functions, "we think that the way of approaching the planning of units in our municipality by the Ministry of Education shows a lack of respect to the families who made their enrollment, attending the initial planning of units that was made by this department. "
Eulalia Moreno points out that "this planning can be altered by the modification of units that, in an improvised manner, the Ministry is carrying out at this stage of the course";
and warns that "these situations occur when the underlying problems are not addressed, which in this case is the situation of CEIP Luis Pérez Rueda".
The councilor recalls that for years we have been demanding from the Ministry the need to carry out a special plan for centers that, like the CEIP Pérez Rueda, have situations that can not be addressed in an ordinary way;
and advocates "for exceptional solutions or approaches in exceptional situations"
Moreno cites, as an example, the demand for a bus that can take the students of the CEIP Pérez Rueda;
and indicates that "another solution is to sit down and try to solve the problems of the center from the root, since the problems of this center are affecting, as we see, the rest of Totana's schools".
"The acting mayor calls on the Ministry of Education, and more specifically the Directorate General of Educational Planning and Human Resources," to seek a definitive solution to this problem, allowing to plan in a logical and reasoned all units of the educational centers of Totana ".
He also adds that "the solution is to meet with the management teams of the centers, which are the ones that know the situation best."
