The Local Government Board has recently given the green light to the proposal of the council of Finance and Contracting, Ana María Cánovas, on request for authorization to undertake improvement and repair works under the canon of the management contract and exploitation of service concession public of the Municipal Pool of Totana.
The City Council has partially estimated the request of the merchant "AMG VIP Sport, Health and Leisure, SL" presented on November 20, 2018, as the contractor of the referenced contract, authorization to make new investments cover arrangement and dismantling works and demolition in first floor and basement.
Thus, the total amount of 31,037.14 euros has been approved as provisional liquidation of the authorized works, subject to the definitive settlement that must be expressly approved upon receipt of the works, in accordance with the actual expenses duly accredited.
On July 30, 2012, the contract for the management and operation of the public service of the Municipal Pool of Totana was signed, which also includes the conservation and maintenance of the preventive and repair order of all the facilities of the sports center, the replacement and major repair actions that are necessary.
In addition, it includes the exploitation of complementary areas that are suitable for the development of commercial or similar activities compatible with the facilities of the sports center;
as well as the provision, maintenance and updating of the sports equipment of the same facilities.
Precisely, for the selection of the winner in the bidding of this contract was valued, in its day, among other criteria, the increase of the annual minimum fee, the greater number of years of advance of the corresponding fee and the greater amount of the investment corresponding to the works of extension and improvement of the installations, works and equipment of the Indoor Pool.
Last November, the contractor awarded the contract to the City Council the justification to make improvements in the sports center;
obeying the need to modernize the facilities to adapt them to current needs and help the concession to be profitable by increasing users.
For this reason, they request municipal authorization to undertake these reforms with a planned investment of 82,709.61 euros and that the final amount allocated to them is computed by the payment of the fee.
