The Autonomous Community, together with its president, Fernando López Miras, has shown once again its commitment to Totana with the approval today of almost two million euros for the construction of the storm tank and the deposit of the Totana water treatment plant. .
This project will avoid that when there are episodes of rains the discharges reach the river and later, they can be reused by the farmers, once purified.
The candidate for mayor of the Popular Party of Totana, Juan Pagán, said that this work shows once again that the Regional Government is committed to Totana, "the proposal was prepared by the Popular Parliamentary Group in the Assembly and defended I and it has a double benefit, since they avoid the overflow of the depurated one and its collection for a later use ".
The Council today authorized the expenditure of 1,929,000 euros to carry out this project, charged to the budget of the Regional Wastewater Treatment and Sanitation Entity (Esamur) and has a deadline for execution of the work is 9 months
Currently this treatment plant is designed to treat 250 m3 / hour, so in rainy episodes, this flow is exceeded, requiring the construction of a storm tank prior to entry and a raft that serves as a rolling device of the unitary system in rainy periods, thus avoiding the overflow of the treatment plant and the consequent discharge into the public channel.
In addition, these elements will serve as a device for retention or relief of the flows coming from the sanitation network in case of breakage or failure in the pumping of elevation of raw water of the treatment plant.
Pagan explained that, in addition, this work will be a later benefit because, in the future, these waters, once they are purified, can be used by farmers as irrigation water.
