The two technicians who have worked during the last two months, March and April, doing support work in the Service of Prevention and Control of School Truancy in Totana that has promoted the Department of Education have recently completed their support services for this task.
During these months, these professionals have carried out different actions under a grant awarded by the Ministry of Education of the Autonomous Community.
In this time they have developed numerous actions, such as interviews with family members, home visits, intervention with minors in the most serious cases, prevention talks, coordination with educational centers, Social Services, Guidance teams of local area and Local Police .
In addition, a prevention campaign called "Your class attendance, SUMA" has been designed, disseminating through posters and information brochures in different parts of the municipality.
Within the actions aimed at dissemination and prevention, 9 talks have been held, aimed at 6th grade students of Primary and Secondary Education, reaching a total of 212 students, and 14 families.
In addition, the School Truancy Prevention and Control Service has served a total of 36 children with their respective families or legal guardians.
Of these, 14 cases have been incorporated regularly and positively to the educational center and another, due to its seriousness, has been referred to the Technical Committee of the Regional Bureau of Murcia.
The Municipal School Absenteeism Service appreciates the involvement and effort of all professionals involved in this field, who have worked in a coordinated and effective manner.
All have made it possible to reach each of the children and families in order to raise awareness about the importance of attending class, acquisition of values as well as another model of understanding the educational world.
