The Local Government Board has recently approved the proposal of the Councilor for Finance and Contracting, Ana María Cánovas, to tender the installation of a potable water distribution pipeline next to the La Santa ravine in the Tamil Camilleri neighborhood, through a simplified procedure summary.

In addition, a green light was given to the list of economic and technical administrative clauses, drafted and initialed by the Secretary General on April 3, which is included in the file and which governs the bidding and awarding of this contract.

The distribution of drinking water networks in the urban area consists of a mesh of pipes that supply all the established properties.

In addition to this, networks start radially from the urban area to supply plots that are located in the lower areas of the aforementioned urban area.

These radial networks, of very old construction, have raffled all the existing infrastructures in the territory, such as the railroad, the Commonwealth channel of the Taibilla Channels, ramblas, roads and highways.

At the same time, these have, in some sections, paths that run through the interior of plots of private property, because in the past the installation of the pipes was carried out with the shortest possible length.

One of these networks suffers a breakdown inside a private plot in which there are built buildings that make repair impossible, so the Municipal Water Service has left the section of pipeline without service temporarily.

This breakdown is affecting the subscribers that are supplied from the aforementioned network, since the provision of water that is made temporarily from another network does not cover the needs completely.

This impossibility has led to the need to install a new section of network to, as far as possible, eliminate the layout inside the private plot and put into service the supply to the network that reaches the railway.

Due to the affections that appear, the sectoral authorizations of the Mancomunidad of the Canales del Taibilla and the Segura Hydrographic Confederation have been necessary;

and since this action is considered of public interest since it is about the supply of drinking water to citizens.

The route is located outside of private lands, with the exception of the final section, in order to safeguard the works for their maintenance;

For this purpose, the access road to the existing private estate next to the rambla has been chosen.

This is the only possible route to carry out the bypass of the damaged section, since in the northeast part of the land there is no existence of any road.
