The Local Government Board has approved a grant request to the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, proposed by the councilor of Archaeological Sites, Juan José Cánovas, to adapt the environment of the Cave of La Plata and create a new cultural space available for tourism , educational and leisure.
In addition, it has been agreed to acquire the commitment to adopt sufficient credit from the City of Totana in order to co-finance the project in the event that this subsidy is granted.
The recovery, conservation and promotion of the historical-artistic and cultural heritage of the municipality of Totana is a priority objective for both the Autonomous Community and the Consistory.
This subsidy is requested under the order of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, of February 5, 2019, which calls for aid to local entities in the region for the performance of interventions in archaeological and paleontological sites.
