The Secretary of Agriculture and Water of the PSOE local Antonio Martinez Baena, states that in only 9 months of socialist government of Pedro Sanchez and Diego Conesa at the head of the Government Delegation in Murcia has responded to the historical demand of farmers our municipality of that regularization of irrigated land consolidated in that common effort to advance in the hydrological planning of the Segura basin.
Martinez Baena reminds that this decision will regulate 3789 hectares of consolidated irrigation and culminate with the suffering and uncertainty of many families totaneras, by the legal uncertainty in which were their farms especially in the lower districts of the municipality, close in number to 900 farms.
It also declares that of the 3,280,000 cubic meters granted to the municipality, 500,000 cubic meters will be destined for livestock exploitations which not only will guarantee the agricultural use, but also will serve to improve the competitiveness of the livestock sector that until now had to be supplied with water drinking water through the Mancomunidad de Canales del Taibilla at a much higher price.
A decision of justice for all farmers, which prevents them from continuing to plant their own land in an irregular manner despite the fact that, for decades, they have proven that these lands are cultivated.
To finish Martinez Baena wanted to not only recognize the work of the Government of the Nation in the hands of the Ministry of Ecological Transition, the Delegate of the Government Diego Conesa, Hydrographic Confederation and the work of our City Council as well as the struggle of affected neighbors which are also very important part in this "historic concession", neighbors which the local PSOE address wants to congratulate through its spokesman on agriculture and water.
