The Department of Municipal Works and Infrastructure informs that tomorrow, February 25, work begins to cover a total of 720 square meters of sports court in the CEIP "San Jose", whose actions have a term of four months of execution and an amount of about 181,000 euros, according to its owner, Víctor Balsas.
The Local Government Board awarded at the end of last November the contract for the execution of the works to cover the sports center track of the school of Infant and Primary "San José" to the commercial Servimar 2008 SL To the tender procedure a total of ten construction companies;
and the initiative is part of the Works and Services Plan for 2018.
Within the framework of this program, the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration and the City Council will carry out this work and the rehabilitation of the "Ginés Rosa" Theater of the Sociocultural Center "La Cárcel" for the annuities of 2018 and 2019, since they were the projects most supported by the neighbors in the telematic public consultation carried out last March and April 2017.
The total budget for both annuities amounted to almost 460,000 euros, of which 430,000 euros are financed by the Autonomous Community, under a grant of 215,000 euros in 2018 and another for the same amount in 2019;
and the remaining 22,500 euros are contributed by the Totanero Consistory.
Víctor Balsas recalled that the Works and Services Plan 2018/2019 has a multi-year nature, covering the expenditure commitment of the Autonomous Community for the amount corresponding to the two annuities, which will allow the possibility of reuse of the remainders that are generated.
The Councilor of Works has shown his satisfaction that these works are completed before the end of this term in compliance with a commitment made with the educational community of the center and the San José neighborhood association, and responding to the historical demands of citizens of this area of ​​the urban helmet.
