The Department of Education reports that the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports celebrates this Thursday, February 14, from 9:00 a.m., at the Cine Velasco a conference on genome editing tools aimed at students of the centers of teaching of Totana.
This conference, organized by the General Directorate of Attention to Diversity and Educational Quality, will be given by the prestigious Professor Lluis Montoliu who collaborates with the Foundation for Medical Studies of Molina de Segura (FEM), and disseminates their knowledge within the Youth program Researchers
The conference is scheduled under the title "What is the purpose of gene editing with CRISPR tools?", And CRISPR technology will be addressed;
which is a recent genome editing tool that acts as molecular scissors capable of cutting any DNA sequence of the genome in a specific way and allowing the insertion of changes in it.
This conference is aimed at students in 4th ESO, 1st and 2nd year of the Bachelor of Science and Technology;
and it will last approximately sixty minutes plus question time.
From the Department of Education is recommended the attendance of students for their great interest and the gratuity of the event.
For a good reception of the students and realization of the act is recommended the arrival of the students to the place where the conference takes place about 30 minutes before the start time.
