The Musical Association of Totana has organized a broad and ambitious program of activities for the whole year 2019, with the collaboration of the Department of Culture, which includes festivals, concerts, Cultural Week, workshops and other cultural activities related to the field of training musical, among others.
The first deputy mayor, Juan José Cánovas, the councilor for Culture, Eulalia Moreno, the director of the Band of the Musical Group, José Ãngel Palazón, the vice president of the Board of Directors, Blasi Montes, and the musicians Fran Cánovas and María Corbalán They presented the list of activities.
The program starts on March 15 with the celebration of the activity "A Rock a Banda.
A story in 6 decades ", which will take place at 9:00 p.m., at Cine Velasco.
With this, the Band of Music of the Musical Group and the group "Carivete FM" -composed mostly by musicians of this entity- will perform a joint performance reviewing rock music from the 50s to the present at national and international level. international.
Tickets will go on sale at 3 euros (advance) and 5 euros (box office);
and can be purchased at the Sociocultural Center "La Cárcel" and the School of Music of Totana.
In addition, on April 15 will take place the traditional Concert of Passionary Marches of Holy Week in the church of Santiago El Mayor and on May 19 the Band will participate in the auditorium "Víctor Villegas" of Murcia in the cycle of concerts scheduled by the Federation of Bands of Music of the Region of Murcia (3 euros entrance).
On June 23 will be held the awards ceremony of the "Young Solo Players" Contest coinciding with the end of the course of the students of Initiation and Musical Language of the School of Music.
In July several activities have been organized, coinciding with the festivities of Santiago, as it is on the 20th, the XXIX Music Band Festival "Ciudad de Totana";
and on the 27th, the Fiestas de Santiago Concert.
For the first time, the Musical Group of Totana has scheduled a Cultural Week, which will take place from October 1 to 4, with the celebration of workshops for the creation of instruments, games, teachers' concerts, flea markets, gymcana, among others.
Likewise, on November 29 the Concert will be held in honor of Santa Cecilia and on December 22 will be the Christmas Concert, both in the "Ginés Rosa" Theater.
Totana City Council has been signing an annual collaboration agreement with the Asociación Agrupación Musical de Totana in recent years to cover part of the operating expenses corresponding to the current year of this entity;
and above all, as a priority objective to boost and facilitate the realization of activities and initiatives aimed at achieving the participation of this cultural entity in the municipality.
This agreement allows the participation in numerous cultural and social activities promoted by the different Councils of the Totanero Consistory and that have their invaluable participation and involvement.
