The Cepaim Foundation organizes the course "Interculturality and Strategies for Social Cohesion" within the "La Cárcel Formación" program, with a duration of 30 hours, of which 10 are face-to-face and 20 online.
This training activity is part of the "La Cárcel Formación" program organized by the councils of Youth and Citizen Participation during the 2018/2019 academic year.
With this action, the aim is to train students in the field of interculturality and in the knowledge of different tools to promote social cohesion, which allows for closer ties between different cultures.
The contents will be basically an approach to the concept of culture, multiculturalism, ethnocentrism, sociocultural models, management of diversity and multiculturalism, cultural identities, stereotypes and prejudices, intercultural mediation, techniques and tools to work interculturality, among others.
This course is aimed at professionals of Social Education and Social Work, teachers, students, NGO volunteers and anyone interested in acquiring knowledge related to interculturality.
This will be taught from March 4 to 31 in the training rooms of the Sociocultural Center "La Cárcel", so that the face-to-face sessions will be on March 14 and 21, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
and on March 28, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The program has four modules: approach to the concept of culture, management of diversity and multiculturalism, cultural identities, stereotypes and prejudices and intercultural competences.
At the end of the course students will receive a certificate of improvement, and the registration fee for the course is 50 euros.
