The Department of Equality of the City of Totana supports the rally called for today in the Plaza Belluga de Murcia (19:00 hours) in solidarity with the feminist mobilizations promoted by Andalusia under the slogan "Our rights are not negotiated! Not a step back in equality! ", and that have the collaboration and adhesion of 47 political and social organizations of the Region of Murcia.
The groups adhering to the feminist call for Andalusia feel that the progress made towards equality is being compromised and they have decided to mobilize with a campaign that started yesterday in Seville and that, with the support of more than 200 national and international collectives, will remain active in the next months in Spain and in cities of France, Germany or England.
They consider that, although for the moment they have decided not to touch the gender equality laws, they were put on the table "as currency and denying the unquestionable reality of sexist violence that we will not consent", says the mayor of Equality, Eulalia Brown.
The organizers of this movement insist that they do not "take to the streets because they have lost one party in favor of another" but because they want to "make it very clear that they will face us, that we are 50% of the population and we want to make visible our strength, united and combative, to advance our struggle for political and social rights.
