The Department of Youth of the City of Totana, one more year, launched the program "Christmas School", a service to reconcile work, personal and family life during the upcoming Christmas school holidays, which is completely free.
The councilor of the branch, Inmaculada Blázquez, and the representative of the Collective for the Social Promotion "El Candil", Alba Cánovas, who will assume the management of said project, have given account of the characteristics and conditions of the same.
Under a grant granted by the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, for an amount of 10,772 euros, co-financed by the European Social Fund, the Consistory returns to develop this service for free during the next Christmas school holidays.
The service is aimed at the families in which the two parents are working or in the case that one of them is working and the other is doing occupational training, during this time of school holidays.
Inmaculada Blázquez explained that her department proposes this project "as a socio-educational response to the child and youth population of the municipality of Totana, in order to strengthen this resource as a valid and effective tool for families in the field of life balance labor and private. "
The mayor explained that the reality of the municipality presents the growing demand for conciliation services by families with children of school age, and that is why this resource is offered at this time of year as a clear support for working families.
In addition, he pointed out that reconciling Christmas holidays with work or training for employment is an important effort for these parents, since more and more families in which both parents are working or, where appropriate, receiving training to Job search.
The beneficiaries of the Christmas School are minors who are enrolled in the Infant and Primary Education centers of Totana, with ages between 3 and 12 years, whose parents work or participate in training actions for employment.
The program will take place on December 24, 26, 27, 28 and 31;
and on 2, 3 and 4 January 2019 in the public schools "Santiago" and "La Cruz", with hours from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
and contemplates a total of 100 places.
The registration period begins this Monday, December 3, at the Sociocultural Center "La Cárcel";
and will remain open until the places are covered.
The mayor thanked the directors of the collaborating schools for their full collaboration and involvement in the good development of the service and highlighted the trajectory of the Collective of Social Promotion "El Candil", an association with long experience and extensive experience in the realization of these services.
Finally, Blázquez has indicated that the Christmas School allows us to expand resources, continuity and participation of young people and children of Totana, during the Christmas period.
On the other hand, Alba Cánovas has explained the dynamics and activities that the participants will develop during these days and has given an account of the objectives involved in the implementation of this socio-educational resource.
