The Local Police of Totana adheres to the special campaign of surveillance and control of vans that will take place from November 26 to 29, in compliance with the programming of the campaigns and operations of surveillance and control for the year 2018 carried out by the Directorate General of Traffic (DGT), according to sources from the Jefatura.
During this, inspections will be conducted on vehicles (authorizations and documents, technical conditions and safety elements, etc.) and on drivers (driving license and alcohol), among others.
The driving of a van is not the same as that of a tourist;
the dynamic behavior is different, especially if it is loaded.
The subjection of the load is vital, any displacement of the same affects the stability of the vehicle by displacement of the center of gravity.
Among this type of vehicles, the incidence of road exits and rollovers is higher, which can be explained by the excessive or poor positioning of the load.
In the year 2017 the deceased occupants of vans have increased with respect to the previous year: 21 more deaths, 18 on interurban roads and 3 on urban roads.
There has also been an increase in hospitalized injuries: 14 more hospitalized injured, an increase of 5% compared to 2016.
