The Government delegate commits to transfer the concerns of those affected mediated before the Ministry of Ecological Transition

The mayor, Andrés García, and the Councilor for Urban Development, Carlos Ballester, accompanied today a representation of the residents of Totana and Aledo affected by the High Voltage Line of the Photovoltaic Plant that the company X-Elio plans to build in the district of Lorca of Zarcilla de Ramos, in his meeting with the Government delegate in Murcia, Diego Conesa.

Together with the municipal authorities, the mayor of Aledo, Juan José Andreo, and representatives of Plataforma ACUDE and Ecologists in Action, respectively, attended.

According to the totanero mayor, the government delegate, who already knew the status of the project after a meeting he had with those affected a few months ago, has addressed the situation in which the project is currently and has committed to mediate the Ministry of Ecological Transition to stop the same as far as possible.

The mayor of Totana recalls that the City Council has already submitted allegations to the Photovoltaic Plant project because it "seriously" affects the interests of the residents of Totana and Aledo by the layout of the High Voltage Line projected for the evacuation of electrical energy in the substation located next to the industrial estate 'El Saladar', in the totanero municipality.

Andrés García reiterates that the Consistory "must defend their interests and those of their neighbors and, in solidarity, those of the neighbors and affected by this layout of the neighboring municipality of Aledo."

The business group Andaltia is the promoter of the construction of the solar photovoltaic power plant 'Lorca Solar', which would cost 400 million euros, and which intends to begin its execution in 2019 in this district of Lorca with the objective that the central be operational in the year 2020.

This evacuation line is a high voltage line that, according to the project, would have a length of about 40 kilometers and would join the photovoltaic solar plant from Zarcilla de Ramos with the electrical substation located in El Saladar, also crossing the municipality of Aledo, allowing the evacuation of the spill to the network of the electrical energy of the plant, whose capacity would be 400 megawatts.

After several years of negotiations that are believed to have led nowhere, the Platform of Affected by the High Voltage Line of Totana and Aledo made mobilizations and legal claims and not only against the line that must evacuate the production of the park. photovoltaic energy 'Lorca Solar', but also against this own project.

This is projected in an area of great environmental value and, especially, for steppe birds, causing serious environmental damage and affecting the private properties of more than 400 affected, seriously harming the farmers and residents of the two municipalities.
