The mayor of Totana, Andrés García Cánovas, has issued a Mayor's Award referring to various aspects related to the sporting practice of colombicultura in the municipality of Totana in relation to the behavior of pigeon owners during the 2018/2019 season.
The camp has been drafted at the request of the Society of Colombicultura Santiago de Totana, on the application of the Law 3/2011, of March 25, of Protection and Regulation of the Sports Practice of the Colombicultura and the Colombofilia.
In it, the ban on the flight of pigeons not destined to practice sports during the celebration of official training, competitions and competitions, colombicultures and fanciers, within the calendar of sports competitions in the 2018/2019 season.
The violation of this flight ban is typified as a serious infraction in the aforementioned Law, and will be punishable in accordance with the corresponding regulations.
In addition, warns of the obligation for those who pick up a sport pigeon or a carrier pigeon to deliver it to this City Council, or to the corresponding Federation or Colombicultura or Pigeon Society.

Also, it is stated that the City Council, through the Department of Sports and Local Police, will adopt actions and methods of control over pigeons and other feral birds without control, as well as agree to the flight ban for pigeons not intended for practice sports during the celebration of training and competitions colombicultures of this sport entity.
