The Local Government Board has recently agreed to approve the proposal of the Councilor for Elderly People, Antonia Camacho, to renew the collaboration agreement of the City Council with the Autonomous Community, through the Murcia Social Action Institute (IMAS), for the provision of service of the Dependent Senior Citizen Day Centers in the 2019 and 2020 financial years.
This agreement comes to give continuity to this service that is currently being provided to the dependent people of the municipality of Totana in the municipal centers of Calle Real and Plaza Balsa Vieja, respectively.
The Day Center service offers comprehensive care during the day period to elderly people in situations of dependency in order to improve or maintain the best possible level of personal autonomy and support families or caregivers.
In particular, it covers from the gerontological and therapeutic approach to the needs of counseling, prevention, rehabilitation, guidance for the promotion of autonomy, habilitation or care and personal care.
In it, the benefits of care, control and protection of the user are provided;
geriatric, rehabilitative and social care;
programs and activities of the center;
maintenance service;
and adapted transport.
The day centers remain open, from Monday to Friday, on weekdays, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
and the seats without maintenance have a cost of 700 euros per month and with maintenance of 869 euros for the same period of time.
The total cost of the collaboration agreement amounts to 625,680 euros, of which the IMAS contributes 594,396 euros and the rest mail by the 30 users object of the agreement in each center, who pay 5% of the total cost.
