The mayor, Andrés García, announced this morning to the media that the neighbor resident in Totana, María Ignacia Carreira González, 52, who had disappeared at the end of last August, was found in good condition last night.
Apparently, the woman, who was being sought since last August 30, was located in the vicinity of a supermarket in the hamlet of Santo Ãngel Murcia, after being recognized by a neighbor of the area linked to the municipality of Totana.
The person who recognized her gave 112 a warning so that local police and National Police agents showed up at the scene, and with her collaboration they transferred her to the police station, where she gave an account of the places and vicissitudes she had experienced since her disappearance.
Carreira González was taken to her family home in Totana by agents of the Civil Guard, where after cleaning herself, she was taken to the "Rafael Méndez" hospital to carry out a pertinent medical examination, where she remains.
The search device took place in Totana between August 30 and September 6, composed of dozens of volunteer neighbors and members of Civil Protection, Local Police and Civil Guard;
although this last Body has continued the investigations in the last weeks.
The mayor reported that the woman is physically well although she has lost some weight and is in good general health;
and stated that she has shown herself to be very collaborative with the agents who accompanied her until she reunited with her family.
In addition, Andrés García has now asked for respect for her and her family;
At the same time he has made an institutional thanks to all the Security Forces and all the people of Totana who participated in the search battles a month ago, in which a helicopter, dogs and drones were used, among other means.
