With an investment of 37,000 euros, financed by the General Directorate of Water next week, the first 150 meters of 250 mm diameter Ductile Casting pipe that connects the MCT in the Rapido with the Ñorica Deposit are put into service
In these days the execution of some important works of replacement of the pipe that feeds the Deposit of the Ñorica, in the Paraje of the "Coto de la Pallaresa" from the Take of the "Rapido del Guarda" in the Canal General del Taibilla in the direction of Cartagena.
"It's about replacing a 150 mm FC pipe, very clogged with lime, by a new Ductile Cast iron with a diameter of 250 mm that will provide much more capacity for the filling of the Regulating Tank and will almost double the water flow, reaching 50 liters per second ... "said the head of the Water Service in the City of Totana, Antonia Camacho.
There are several years with supply problems in the Polygon and in the area of ​​the Ñorica, due to the lack of capacity of the site now under construction, the increase in water consumption in the Industrial Area due to the installation of new companies or the growth of houses, businesses and livestock farms in the Diputación de la Ñorica and Lébor Bajo in a network that runs to the Guadalentín River from the "Saladar" Polygon.
"This work, which will end next week, with a budget of 37,000 euros, financed by the General Directorate of Water, is the first phase to be followed by another one consisting in the replacement of the current pipeline from the Deposit of the Ñorica to the via del Ferrocarril, crossing the National 340 at the height of the Aceña del Hierro ... ", explains Antonia Camacho.
Actions aimed at optimizing water networks, increasing performance and planning future growth of Industrial Activity or livestock activities in the area of ​​influence of this important network of drinking water supply in the Municipality of Totana.
