The Association "Project Abraham" maintains in the urban helmet of Totana the provision of the service of collected in the public thoroughfare, by means of the implantation of containers of used clothes, footwear and toys.
The Proyecto Abraham Association is authorized for the management of non-hazardous waste in Murcia by Resolution of the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Planning of the Autonomous Community of Murcia since 2007 and is part of the Spanish Association of Social and Solidarity Economy Recuperators ( AERESS).
Precisely, this year this entity has renovated containers distributed in different parts of the urban center of Totana, coinciding with the modification of its corporate image.
The purpose of selective collection of textile, footwear and toys waste is to contribute to the development and improvement of measures in favor of the preservation of the environment.
These are transformed into a resource with which to host homes, training, employment, development aid, support and support for groups at risk or social exclusion.
The collection system is based on the placement of metal containers on the street, ecoparks and large surfaces.
It also relies on the implementation of a "door to door" collection system where other types of containers will be placed in neighborhood communities, shopping centers or other institutions interested in adhering to the "door to door" collection protocol.
In addition, the temporary collection of waste in educational centers is promoted, preceded by an awareness campaign on the recycling of this waste and the social work of the "Proyecto Abraham" Association.
