The Department of Services to the City, Works and Infrastructure of the City of Totana plans to undertake from next October more than half of improvement and refurbishment actions in numerous public spaces and infrastructure of general interest in the framework of the District Councils of Employment for the 2018/2019 call in this municipality.
This program deals with an important budget allocation offered by the Ministry of Employment and Social Security available to local corporations to promote rural employment in periods of time when the primary sector does not absorb labor.
As reported by the councilman of the branch, Víctor Balsas, the municipality of Totana account for this call with a budget of approximately 377,521.80 euros, about 19,000 euros more than the previous year, to hire a total of 116 unemployed people, especially pawns agricultural, to combat unemployment in the agricultural sector.
The actions planned to develop the Consistory totanero under this project include the cleaning and conditioning of a total of 27 rural roads in the municipality spread throughout the term, in all districts, and that will allow the settlement of about 33.5 kilometers , in two phases, in which 46 people will be hired in each of them.
In addition, it will continue with the arrangement of green spaces and gardens of the urban area and the districts: in a first phase, five agricultural workers will be hired to undertake improvement work on parterres and irrigation areas, such as the garden of Crisóstomo and the plaza de Liberty (Ceramics);
while in a second, two pawns of the construction will be added to rehabilitate the trees and irrigation system of the fairground and the garden of the County.
Likewise, more than 800 square meters of cobblestone will be repaired in eight central streets of the urban area of ​​Totana: in the first phase, the Santiago, San Ramón and Macario roads will be operated;
and in a second stage, the streets Balsero, García Alix and Vidal Abarca will be fixed;
whose actions are very demanded by neighbors and residents.
The councilor stressed that the City Council advocates to obtain maximum profitability and optimize resources in terms of personnel and works during the two phases in which this program is developed that is highly operational for the municipal administration and is a great help for the beneficiaries at specific times of labor parking in the agricultural sector.
A total of 1,298 casual workers from depressed rural areas of the Region of Murcia will benefit from the subsidy of 4,758,432.61 euros approved by the Regional Monitoring Commission of the Agrarian Employment Promotion program after studying the 45 reports, eight more than in 2017, submitted by the 22 municipalities included in a plan financed entirely by the Public Employment Service of the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Social Security.
