Totana is one of Murcia's municipalities that have joined the Regional Network of Municipalities for Citizen Participation, promoted by the regional government, and to which almost all of the 45 municipalities of the Region have already adhered, by subscribing the corresponding collaboration agreements.
The objective of these agreements is the execution of joint activities aimed at promoting citizen participation in public life and implementing complementary actions in the area of transparency in the municipalities, as well as collaboration between public administrations, as pillars of the new public management in the framework of the Open Government.
The adhesion of the city councils to this regional initiative, created in 2015, implies their commitment to the promotion of participation processes for the development of measures that involve the neighbors.
For its part, the Community offers support, advice and training in this area to local entities.
Totana was one of the first four municipalities to join the project by signing it in 2015, along with Mula, Molina de Segura and Lorca.
In the past year, the Community signed a total of 19 agreements with the municipalities of Los Alczares, Águilas, Calasparra, Albudeite, Fuente Álamo, Jumilla, Alhamade Murcia, Abanilla, Blanca, Campos del Ro, Cehegn, Fortuna, Ulea, Pliego, Ricote, San Javier, Ceut, Torre Pacheco and Villanueva del Segura river.
These agreements are in addition to those already signed during 2016 with the municipalities of Lorqu, Abarn, Beniel, Ojs, Aledo, Moratalla, Bullas, Archena, San Pedro del Pinatar, Yecla, Mazarron, Cieza, Santomera, Caravaca de la Cruz, Puerto Lumbreras and Alcantarilla.
