The Department of Works and Infrastructure informs that today the vehicular traffic has been cut downtown Juan XXIII Street as a result of the beginning of the works of conditioning of the sidewalks in this way that aim to improve accessibility and boost this commercial space of the urban helmet.
For this reason, neighbors, drivers, pedestrians and users are asked to be understandable with this situation and forgive the inconvenience caused during the duration of the works, approximately one month;
At the same time it is suggested the possibility of avoiding the use of vehicles to access the roads adjoining the site of the works.
This important commercial street is cut in the traffic direction from its intersections with the Presbítero Ramírez and Cuartelillo roads, respectively.
The traffic on this road is cut off definitively while the works are being carried out, although the corresponding horizontal and vertical signs have been made in the area in order to enable the transit of vehicles along the adjacent roads.
The Local Government Board already approved in the middle of last June the proposal of the councilor of Finance and Contracting, Ana María Cánovas, to award to the company "Constu-Archena, SL" the minor contract for the refurbishment works of the sidewalks in Juan XXIII street, between José Antonio Requena and Juan de la Cierva streets of this town, amounting to 26,287.25 euros.
This action is part of the subsidies of the General Directorate of Trade, Consumption and Administrative Simplification to the municipalities, within the plan to finance actions and investments for the reactivation of open shopping centers for the adaptation of municipal infrastructures to the exercise of retail trade for improvement of its competitiveness
