The Department of Citizen Participation will open a participatory process of neighborhood consultation, from June 28 to July 4, in order to choose the two local festivities of 2019 in the municipality of Totana, responding to the plenary agreement of last 28 September 2017

The councilor of Citizen Participation and Celebrations, Agustín Gonzalo Martínez, presented this initiative that is carried out for the first time in this locality with the purpose of designating the local dates of celebration for the next labor exercise.

In this way, a process has been designed that will allow the residents of Totana to choose, by means of telematic collection tools or in person, the two public holidays that they prefer from a range of possibilities.

The proposed festivities have to leave between December 10 (Santa Eulalia), April 25 (San Marcos) July 25 (Santiago Apóstol) and another that does not coincide with Sunday or labor parties of a national or regional nature .

In this sense, the non-working days for labor purposes throughout the regional scope for the year 2019 do not coincide with Sunday are a total of 12 holiday dates.

These are January 1 (New Year), Epiphany of the Lord (January 7), March 19 (San José), Holy Thursday and Good Friday (April 18 and 19), Labor Festival (May 1), Region Day (10 June), Assumption of the Virgin (August 15), National Holiday of Spain (October 12), All Saints (November 1), Constitution Day (December 6) and Nativity of the Lord (December 25).

In such a way that the neighbors have to choose a maximum of two options among the four proposals and any day other than the non-working ones mentioned above (you can not choose the regional or national holidays already determined).

The municipal Plenary agreed to submit, after a period of debate, to citizen consultation the days of the local festivities so that the citizens could determine them;

and create a commission composed of the political groups and groups involved to reach consensus on the questions of the consultation.

The online telematic survey will be carried out through the municipal web crossing a series of data with those of the municipal register and covering from the age of 16;

while the face-to-face will be enabled for citizens who do not have or know the computer media.

The face-to-face format will make it possible to fill out a similar form on paper that will be distributed in points with mailboxes to deposit the surveys, such as the Citizen Service (SAC), Socio-cultural Center "La Cárcel", Tourism Office and Celebration Department.

In both cases, the DNI of the participants must be provided in order to guarantee the residents' residence in Totana and to allow acceptable levels of reliability in the results.

Once the public consultation is concluded, a report will be issued on July 10 by the municipal technicians with the conclusions and will be informed of the results of the participatory process for its development, so that the proposal will be submitted to the regular plenary session. July and the General Directorate of Labor Relations.
