This activity has been received with great enthusiasm by the participants, who were enthusiastic about the excursion and the welcome party to the summer, in addition, the opportunity has been taken to make a day of coexistence between the different groups of boys and girls .
This resource is part of the actions aimed at children developed in the Project of Socio-educational Intervention with Families and Minors in a Socially Disadvantaged Situation, subsidized by the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities of the CARM, in collaboration with the City Council of Totana
These classrooms develop activities focused on learning through leisure, using techniques and tools suitable for this purpose.
In addition to homework, children perform games and workshops to stimulate their knowledge, as well as healthy lifestyle habits and education in values.
These activities are carried out in two classrooms, one of them located in the Social Area of the High Era, Panama Street, 1 and another in the Social Local of El Parral, Cieza Street, corner of Santomera Street.
The activities are held from Monday to Thursday in the afternoon, with two different groups per classroom.
The activity is involving more than 70 children and 50 families, most of them residents of social housing near the classrooms.
The number of minors participating is limited, since the attention is integral and individualized, which supposes a high level of specialization and dedication.
The form of access is through the schools and Social Services of the municipality, because they are the ones who detect the educational and family needs of the participants, deriving them to the project.
In addition, work has been carried out in coordination with the tutors and teachers of the educational centers attended by the children, as well as with the social workers of these children, with which improvements in the academic results of the children that have been obtained have been obtained. They have attended the classrooms.
This project, which has been carried out in Totana since October 2014, arises in response to the needs detected by various families by the El Candil Collective and the demands received from various institutions.
Its main objective is the adequate care of minors and provide coverage of vital needs for optimal development, as well as support for the families served.
