The mayor, Andrés García, and the councilor for Elderly People, Antonia Camacho, accompanied by members of the Board of Directors of the Municipal Center for Elderly People, attended the coronation ceremony of the new queen and bridesmaids of the Municipal Center's program of festivities of the Elderly, which includes a wide range of cultural, recreational and festive activities until June 18.
The event was held last night with the celebration of a campaign mass held in the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja and was officiated by Father Javier Conesa Carrillo.
The same was also attended by the first deputy mayor, Juan José Cánovas, and the councilors Ana María Cánovas and Isabel María Sánchez.
Subsequently, the local authorities, together with those responsible for the Senior Center, proceeded to the coronation of the Queen of the Holidays 2018, which this year has been named Julia Martínez Martínez and her bridesmaids, Paqui Hernández and Isabel Martínez Marín.
The new queen replaces the outgoing, Rosi Giménez;
and the evening was enlivened by the performance of the group "Aires Latinos".
More acts until Monday
The program of events continues today Friday with the end-of-season coexistence lunch and a musical performance and dances-Rifa "Pedro Hernández", at the restaurant "Venta La Rata", starting at 2:00 p.m.
At the end a gift will be given to the attending Members.
Tomorrow, Saturday, June 16, there will be a musical and dance performance, which will take place at the door of the Elderly Municipal Center in the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja, starting at 10 pm;
While on Sunday, June 17, there will be the family lottery-charity bingo activity, which will take place in the auditorium of the Municipal Center of the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Next, there will be a musical performance and dances with "Alberto", starting at 10 pm at the door of the Municipal Senior Center in the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja.
At the end a chocolatata and buns will be offered for all attendees.
Finally, on Monday June 18 will be the act of awarding diplomas for all the partners participating in the Activities of the 2017/2018 Course.
It will be given to the participating partners in the courses, workshops and classes of the Municipal Center for the Elderly, whose act will be in the auditorium of the Municipal Center of the Plaza de las Balsa Vieja, starting at 6:00 p.m.
At the end of the act an aperitif will be served for all the attendees, with the collaboration of AMG-Servicios Integrados SL Dining and Catering Service of the Senior Center.
