The councilor of the area of Older People, Antonia Camacho, has reported that the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities has launched a new aid order, amounting to 500,000 euros, to subsidize the acquisition of devices or equipment that improve the autonomy staff and the quality of life of the elderly in the Region of Murcia.
The beneficiaries can acquire hearing aids, oral treatment, glasses and lenses, as well as carry out the adaptation or repair of their habitual residence, among other issues.
The councilor explained that "the average life expectancy continues to increase considerably and older people continue to be a source of essential support for the basic needs of their closest relatives."

The Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities considers the normative regulation of this line of aid directed to the elderly in the Region of Murcia, which contributes to alleviating their needs, a priority.
The concepts covered by this call and their maximum amounts are: repair of the usual residence (up to 3,000 euros), adaptation of the usual residence (up to 3,000 euros), oral treatment (up to 3,000 euros), hearing aids -maximum 2 units- (up to 3,000 euros), glasses-maximum 2 units (up to 400 euros) and lenses-maximum 4 units (up to 400 euros).
