Municipal and religious authorities inaugurated last night the new "Garden Santa Maria Cleofé and Crowning of Thorns", which gives its name to the park located next to the home-seat of this brotherhood of Holy Week and that comes to culminate a broad and ambitious program of activities that it has been promoted throughout the year 2018.
The mayor, Andrés García, the president of the brotherhood, Casimiro Esteban Moreno, accompanied by the counselor and parish priest of the Santiago El Mayor church, Francisco José Fernández, proceeded to the inauguration and blessing, respectively, of this public space conditioned in your day by the City Council.
In the act were also present the president of the Illustrious Town Hall of Processions of Totana, José Ramón Peñalver, many councilors of the Totanera Municipal Corporation, presidents of fraternities and brotherhoods, the Nazarene of honor, Francisco Imbernón, and many brothers of this.
The initiative came to give express fulfillment of the plenary agreement of March 23, unanimously, on the proposal of the Mayor and after a brief submitted by the brotherhood itself on February 1, to nominate this existing green area next to the headquarters with that of the brotherhood itself.
Precisely, this year this brotherhood has been the protagonist of the poster announcing the Holy Week of Totana with a snapshot that illustrates the sculptural group of the Coronation of Thorns one of the two images of the brotherhood-.
In addition, during this year, as commented during the act, this brotherhood has expanded its headquarters and has enlarged its heritage with the acquisition of a new throne for the sculptural group of the Coronation of Thorns, respectively.
The institutional act consisted in the discovery of the commemorative plaque in charge of the first mayor of Totana and the president of the brotherhood, after which he was blessed by the counselor, after the public interventions.
The day had also had a procession with the image of Santa Maria Cleofé and mass of honor in the hermitage of San Roque, as well as with dinner of brotherhood and night of music.
