The councilman of Deportes, José Antonio Valverde Queen, offers to all clubs, associations and local athletes in general, to observe one minute's silence as a sign of mourning and remembrance to the figure of honor recently deceased president of the International Olympic Committee (CIO), Juan Antonio Samaranch, at 89 years of age.

Samaranch was 21 at the front of the CIO and was the architect of the modernization of the Olympic Games and the incorporation of the communist bloc countries as well as the great defender of the Olympic Games in Barcelona In 1992.

The mayor expressed his condolences to the family and the sporting world in general, as "the sport will be remembered as the founder of modern Olympic movement, but above all as the man who opened the Games to the professionalism and marketing almost without limits."

President Samaranch was the architect of the Olympic Games in the modern era, and the strengthening and unity of Olympic Movement are the work of exceptional talent and vision, as stated by the mayor, who will leave a legacy that will endure for many years.
