The Governing Council approved two grants for a total of 306,517 euros from the ministries of Social Policy, Women and Immigration, and Education, Training and Employment to the member associations Murciana Federation of Families and Persons with Mental Illness (FEAF), among which is Afemto of Totana.
The first aid amounting to 235,017 euros, aims to develop activities in the following institutions and associations belonging to the federation: Afemy (Yecla), Afemnor (Caravaca de la Cruz), Afesmo (Molina de Segura), Asofem (Lorca), Afemce (Cieza) Afemto (Totana), apex (Cartagena) and afes (Murcia).
The regional government has also authorized a cooperation agreement with this entity to improve education and quality of life for students with mental disorder, with or without an intellectual disability, amounting to 71,500 euros.
Through this agreement shall address a group between 25 and 30 primary and secondary students who are currently enrolled in schools in the Region of Murcia.
Feafes provide psychologists, mental health experts, who provide expert advice to guide teachers and families about drug treatments.
Addition shall carry out monitoring and referral of students affected, in some cases, the mental health services.
At present, the associations that make up Region Feafes serve a thousand families in which there is someone who is mentally ill and is in a position of dependency.
From associations and in collaboration with the Autonomous Community, develop social and welfare programs aimed at improving the quality of life and personal autonomy of these people, as well as respite care in the environment of the sick.
