The City Council of Totana, represented by the mayor and Comprehensive Maintenance Services of the City, Sergio Lopez, said the Board of Directors of the Association of Channel Taibilla at the recent meeting in Cartagena rejection of the Consistory to rising water of 4.28 cents in the price per cubic meter of drinking water, an increase that results from the decision of the Council of Ministers to raise rates driving the waters of the Tajo-Segura aqueduct.

During the Board of Directors, bringing together the mayors of the Region of Murcia and Alicante and political representatives of the PSOE and the PP, the result of the ballot were 47 votes against the increase, 12 in favor and 2 against this increase.

As the mayor explained and Comprehensive Maintenance Services of the City, the vote is not binding, so the rejection of the Board of Directors, which includes the municipalities Taibilla water supply, is just a fixation positions.

In this sense, the mayor explained that the government team of the City of Totana, in line with the policy actions undertaken within the Consistory, has again demonstrated their absolute rejection of this rise in water rates.
