The Councillor for New Technologies, Juan Carrion Tudela, presented the information campaign launched by the City Council of Totana for the correct implementation of Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) in the municipality, before the arrival of the digital switchover in the municipalities of Murcia dependent Carrascoy repeater, which will take place on 3 April.

The campaign, which aims to reach all groups and the public awareness of the importance of adapting to new technology before the impending blackout, will focus on conducting a series of actions to reach all citizens.

To lead this change normally, the City Council of Totana has received a grant of 75,000 Euros from the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

This grant has two main parts: the first batch of 45,000 euros is designed to ensure the coverage of terrestrial digital television in much of the municipality, and the second tranche of € 30,000 is for costs of dissemination and awareness of citizenship.

On the one hand, with respect to the first batch of 45,000 euros the Autonomous Community of Murcia Region has conducted a site survey of the municipality, shedding the need to install this device to bring the signal to digital terrestrial television gray areas that exist in the municipality.

In parallel, the Council of Totana has conducted a total of 22 measurements in the field and is currently awaiting the final report through which to assess how many devices are needed to cover the maximum extent possible and the final location thereof.

On the other hand, with respect to the second batch of 30,000 euros, the City of Totana has designed a leaflet in which you can view the different installers authorized by the municipality that are registered in the Register of Installers Secretary of State Telecommunications and Information Society Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade.

Therefore, the City Council of Totana going to start taking action to inform and sensitize the public of the consequences of this switch-off and how to adapt to the new digital terrestrial television.

Among the actions to be performed include the information days, the DTT platform, brochures, radio or television activities, newspaper ads, radio and TV, door drops and technical meetings with the various companies that can put the town DTT ( the brochure at least) to explain the blackout issue and explore possible ways of transmission (also involving them change.)
