Councilwoman Women and Equal Opportunities, Josefa María Sánchez, recalled that the City is conducting the proceedings of the Second Plan for Equal Opportunities between men and women for a period of 2007-2010, within which, one of the actions included in the Area of Violence against Women has been the creation and coordination of a group of multidisciplinary technical work on gender violence, with another of its activities, the development of a protocol that addresses this issue in the town of Totana .

It is articulated as a homogeneous system of care in which each actor involved in health, social and police, know what to do, when and who is competent to do so.

Also, the result of meetings held by the Working Group, which have been present those involved in gender violence, has been the need to develop a working document agreed by all and to address comprehensively the issue of gender violence.
