The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, and the president of the Illustrious Cabildo Processions Senior, Juan María Zamarreño will sign a cooperation agreement to organize all the processions of the Semana Santa de Totana 2009, in a formal ceremony in the living room the full City Council for eight-thirty in the afternoon, and to which are invited the presidents of the 17 sororities and fraternities.
The Department of Culture of the City of Totana is one of its priority objectives stimulate and facilitate activities and initiatives to ensure the participation of cultural associations in the development of community life and contribute to the promotion and consolidation of associations through appropriate economic cooperation, which will guarantee better performance and greater stability of cultural associations.
Both entities are working together to promote the record of the Declaration of Regional Tourist Interest Easter Totana, since it is one of the objectives set by the local government for this term.
For this we have created a joint commission composed of technical staff of City Hall and the board of the council, to complete the administrative and record.
City officials will attend the reading of the proclamation of Easter 2009
The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, accompanied by members of the government team will attend the Mass of brotherhoods, to be held this Sunday 29 April at half past eleven in the Parish of St. James Major of the locality.
Later we will begin the reading of the proclamation announcing Easter 2009, which this year will be delivered by Rafael Hostench.
After reading the famous opening speech, the event will culminate with the traditional concert march passion flowers, which will be borne by the Orchestra of the Musical Band of the Association of Totana, to be held in the same parish Santiago.
Finally, will be one of the most well-rooted and traditional Easter totanera, the ceremony of the flag to the "weapon" to be held in the Plaza of the Constitution, at about one o'clock.
