Voluntary Service and International Relations, the Collective for Social Promotion "The Candle" developed for the Department of Citizenship, has reported the successful end and the high turnout that the VI Olympiad Study Solidarity, which led EHA s out among the younger citizens of the town of Totana.
This project has been carried out over a month from November 5 to December 5, three study rooms in the town located in the neighborhood Edutec "El Parral", "Tirol-Camilleri" and the hamlet of "The Paretón" where / the pupils attendees were able to devote their hours of study to achieve the greatest possible number of coins.
Each hour of study participants spent by young people has become a euro that the City Council of Totana earmarked for the implementation of 4 educational projects of development cooperation in the countries of Ecuador, Haiti, Cameroon and Angola.
A total of 1,500 euros have been raised by the study of the kids and that the City invest in the projects of development cooperation through NGOs IDC (Institute for Community Development).
From this Service have highlighted the results achieved with the high participation of children and young people sensitized to the problems that citizens as they are every day just because of living in a southern country in the so-called developing countries .
The end result of the VI Olympiad Solidarity Study in Spain has been converted 186,585.50 hours of study in the same number of Euros made, which they can add the amount raised in other countries reaching a total amount of 252,000.00 euros.
Notably, the Region of Murcia has been the second with the highest level of participation, in particular have managed to raise € 26,362 from this community through the involvement of 2,241 people, surpassing the previous year.
Councilman Area Development Cooperation, Juan Carrion, thanked the dedication and interest shown by all involved, from the very young students, teachers in the classrooms of educational support that has encouraged the participation of students, to volunteer who have collaborated in the project.
