The second phase of the refurbishment of the Municipal Sports Pavilion "Manolo Ibáñez" has already begun, under a grant of € 100,000 recently awarded by the Directorate General of Sports of the Autonomous Community, according to the mayor of Sports, José Antonio Valverde Queen.
The works, which shall be the repair of the roof of the pavilion and the wooden floor, which as a result of the leaks are in a very deteriorated condition, according to the mayor, will be completed by the end of August.
This grant was the result of negotiations carried out by the Councillor for Sports and Sports CEO, Antonio Peñalver, who made a commitment to fund these works to be undertaken during the summer months.
Queen Valverde expressed his satisfaction with the implementation of this action because in this way "demonstrates the commitment of regional government with the town of Totana.
These works are part of the construction project to remodel the Pavilion, which began with the first phase consisted of lobby reform and the new offices, which were inaugurated last November.
The last phase of the total construction will be undertaken in the summer of 2009 with the refurbishment of changing rooms, fitness room and utilities.
The mayor also recalled that the Sports Council received a grant from the Autonomous Region in the amount of 11,000 euros in total for the purchase of furniture for the new offices of the municipal area.
With these works, as stated by the mayor, will give the sport of Totana response to the needs of users and sports clubs, offering a quality service through a model of efficiency.
